Parasite, directed by Bong Joon-ho (South Korea), the winner of the Palme D'Or 2019 at the Cannes Film Festival (in May), premiered in Portugal three days ago, last Thursday. Such a complete film! Like Burning (in competition at Cannes, France, in 2018), directed by Lee Chang-dong, Parasite depicts the quiet clash between the rich and the poor in Korean society. It is another great Korean film about writing one's life from the bottom. So is Burning, one of our all-time favourites.

Bong Joon-ho won the Palme D'Or, the most prestigious of all film festival awards. The other most prestigious film festival awards? The Golden Bear (Berlin, Germany, in February), the Golden Leopard (Locarno, Switzerland, in August) and the Golden Lion (Venice, Italy, in September).
