Já aqui escrevemos sobre Citizen Kane (1941), de Orson Welles, um dos filmes mais influentes da História. Excertos do filme foram mostrados aos nossos alunos do 8.º ano e já houve questões sobre a obra no Quiz Cinema. Citizen Kane será agora integralmente visto por duas das nossas turmas do 10.º ano - amanhã, terça-feira, dia 28 de março.
Em simultâneo com o visionamento do filme, os nossos alunos completarão um guião de exploração, realizado no âmbito das nossas sessões do Plano Nacional de Cinema. Numa prévia aula de introdução, os alunos pesquisaram informação sobre o filme e sobre as suas accolades. O desafio lançado aos alunos foi o mesmo que ao jornalista Jerry Thompson: descobrir o significado da palavra 'Rosebud' na vida de Charles Foster Kane.
"'Rosebud'! Dead or alive. It will probably turn out to be a very simple thing!"
Near the ending, Jerry Thompson says: "Maybe 'Rosebud' was something he couldn’t get or something he lost. Anyway, it wouldn’t have explained anything. I don’t think any word can explain a man’s life. No, I guess 'Rosebud' is just a piece in a jigsaw puzzle. A missing piece.” Last week, we saw 'Rosebud' does explain a lot, though. Maybe a single word can indeed explain a man's life.
