Profile: Casey Aflleck - 8.º C

Casey Affleck is a fantastic actor and he and his brother are often in the news, but we admire him because he has been involved in animal rights campaigns. In fact, he works with PETA and Farm Sanctuary. That's why he decided to turn vegan in 1995, i. e., he hasn't eaten animal meat for more than 20 years.

Casey was born on 12th August 1975 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was married to Summer Phoenix for ten years (they got divorced in 2016), and they had two sons: Indiana August, 12, and Atticus, 9. His brother, Ben Affleck (who's older than Casey), is also a very famous actor/director. Before becoming an actor, Casey studied Politics, Physics and Astronomy at George Washington University. He started his career when he was younger with smaller roles. His big breaks occurred in Good Will Hunting (1997), in his brother's Gone Baby Gone (2007), in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (also 2007) - he plays Jesse James -, in Steven Soderbergh's trilogy Ocean's 11/12/13 and now, of course, in Manchester by the Sea (2016).

Today, Casey is very famous, but he's used his fame to help animal organizations, namely PETA. The best thing he does is that he gives the example. Casey is not just a talented actor. He cares about about the world around him.
