Social media has been the topic in our 11th grade classes. A film to watch at the end of this 2nd Term? David Fincher's The Social Network, obviously: winner of the Golden Globe for Best Picture - Drama, winner of 3 Oscars (Adapted Screenplay, Film Editing, Original Score) - the best film of 2010 according to Sight & Sound, The Village Voice and Indie Wire.
The film's résumé is impressive, and so was our students' previous research, precisely about the film's impact in 2010. Simultaneously, our students did some research about the origins of Facebook and about David Fincher, Aaron Sorkin (Adapted Screenplay), Angus Wall and Kirk Baxter (Film Editing), Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (Original Score), the people who made this film - alongside with the actors - one of the best of David Fincher's career.
